Last week, 16-year-old Shadi Khouri, a student at the Quaker's Friends School in Ramallah, Palestine, was violenty kidnapped by Israeli occupation forces. He remains held without sentencing or trial. Sadly, he is but one of many Palestinian children robbed of a childhood by the violence inherent to Israeli apartheid. I am asking you to make two calls: one to the US State Department and one to the Israeli Embassy, demanding the immediate release of Shadi Khoury, alongside all children unlawfully kidnapped, interrogated, and violently detained by Israeli occupation forces. Surely such practices are counterproductive and cannot succeed in achieving true security.

  • Point 2

Second, the U.S. supplies Israel with $3.8 billion in military assistance each year. If passed, H.R. 2590 would prohibit funds to the government of Israel for the use of military detention, interrogation, abuse or ill treatment of Palestinian children. This legislation is a crucial step forward to ensuring that U.S. taxpayers are not supporting the systematic abuse of children.
